Volunteers from Beta Alpha Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and Zeta Amicae of Jacksonville, participated in the stair-climbing event, ‘Fight for Air Climb,’ presented by The American Lung Association Jacksonville. The climbers included young adults, seniors, teens and local organizations alongside firefighters in full gear weighing 50 to 70 pounds, climbing 34 flights of stairs. The Zeta family had an opportunity to provide water to the climbers, greet volunteers, climbers and on-lookers, cheer on and check in the climbers and volunteers. “We were honored to support those living with lung disease and pay respect to those who have succumbed to it,” said Zeta Amicae President Merle Wright.  The Amicae auxiliary provides an opportunity for professional women to be affiliated with Zeta and assist the sorority with providing positive, proactive, and far-reaching community service, both nationally and internationally. For 103 years, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority has upheld their Founders’ vision, setting them apart as an organization built on the ideals of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood.
