Travel agent specialist and all things African promoter Brenda Frinks is modifying her Duval destiny and will be moving to Tampa, Florida to start a new journey. “My son and grandchild are in Tampa. Time for me to enjoy my retirement,” said Frinks. For more than 25 years, Frinks has been on the front line in the Duval community presenting events of culture to enrich the lives of Jacksonville community residents through her work with: The Youth Crisis Center, the Black Expo, Kwanza, African Village and World of Nation cultural events.
To say farewell to her friends, family, colleagues and associates in Duval, Frinks held a parting soiree this past weekend inside the Ritz Theatre. The evening was inclusive with a catered dinner and a concert featuring Noel Friedline Quintet performing the music of Stevie Wonder. Frinks smiled, “I will miss my daughter for sure and know that if I do not get to see you before leaving next week thank you. I’ve learned so much from our interactions and thank you for honestly sharing your time, support, love, and heart with me.” Shown center is Brend Frinks with supporters Councilwoman Joyce Morgan and Reva Oliver at the farewell.
