By Lynn Jones – Travel Agent owner, Ty Moore has traveled throughout these United States visiting almost all of the 50 states!  From East Coast to West Coast, this Jacksonville Florida native and Wolfson High school graduate is on a mission to unite women from all backgrounds to travel on a budget. As a result, Ty created the ‘Girls Trips on a Budget’ (GTOAB), facebook group for women to gather and create a bond to travel the world together, “Most of the women I know are trying to save their coins, because I’m always trying to save coins.  Whenever I travel, I’m going on a budget,” Ty said. For more than 20 years, Ty’s travel agency has booked and reserved over two-hundred trips for guests to journey around the world.

Sitting around with girlfriends, chit chatting about numerous booking voyages, the idea of GTOAB light bulb came on and in almost 60 days, the GTOAB social media page has received more than 10-15 thousands likes a day and has accumulated 400k followers – wow!! Since creating the page two months ago, Moore has hired ten administers to filter the sites uploads, scams and membership options.

With chapters now forming throughout the 50 states, the Jacksonville Facebook group recently met-up at Copeland’s www.copelandsjax.com/restaurant on the Southside to network, discuss upcoming vacation locations to visit, travel agent options, who’s been where and when, text groups, zoom call meetings and next steps for the group exchange of ideas.

Taking the initiative to move forward, GOATB member, military veteran and world traveler Regina Spain organized the meet and greet,  “I took the initiative to peruse the women’s schedules and set the meet and greet to get us started. I was excited to see the women from the facebook group,” said Spain. More than 20 women showed up and introduced themselves, proudly highlighting their travel tours/excursions, ready to formulate new travel friendship opportunities and budgetary trip preferences. “We had a great time meeting new people and deciphering our travel locations and schedules. I’m ready for our next girls on a budget trip,” said new member Cookie Robinson.
