Black Excellence FLA JAX Maintain Social and Civic Mix for Networking Success

FLAJAX Club members and their guests enjoyed food, fun, and fellowship as they hosted their annual ‘Summer Outing,’ cookout held at their clubhouse at 7832 Fernandina Ave. Previous ‘Summer Outings,’ for the club can range from cruise/island excursions, to chartered bus tours, movie and restaurant outings all over the country, “This year was a great event on our campus, even though it was hot outside, the clubhouse was cool inside,” said Club President James Andrews. Guests dined on fried fish, shrimp, barbeque ribs and crabs, while networking and enjoying the camaraderie of members, families and friends.

The FLAJAX Club was established in 1930 by a group of successful, prominent, African American businessmen and community leaders who believed in leadership, integrity and fidelity. It’s founders mission had a strong desire to share their business skills and experiences to organize a club that prompted businessmen to execute business-to-business endeavors as a social club.  The club’s goal is to provide the community with male leadership, while stressing the importance of higher education, sharing their own experiences, wisdom and knowledge.
