Trustees Honored for Assisting the Sherwood Community

To recognize community champions that have supported the Soutel/HarborView community, the Sherwood Forest/Paradise Park Community Association, Inc., Northeast Florida Accountability Forum Corporation (NO-FLAC) hosted their inaugural black history community event inside the Legends Community Center.
Leading with the theme, “Honoring our Legends with Love,” community organizer Eunice Barnum wanted to ensure that February did not end without showing love to the civic leaders and dignitaries that paved the way in Duval County political, education, health and law enforcement entities.  “We wanted to make sure that we honor the community leaders that we know we can call on,” said Barnum.
Barnum also expressed NO_FLAC will have a spring recognition event honoring community champions and neighbors that are also warranted recognition and support for their advocacy and participation in the Soutel/HarborView community clean-ups, demonstrations and city hall support.
Honorees include: Sheriff Nat Glover, City Councilman Sam Newby, Mayor Alvin Brown, Former Congresswoman Corrine Brown, City Councilman Terrance Freeman, Judge Pauline Drake, Judge Rhonda Peoples-Waters, Dr. Diana Green, Judge Angela Cox, Kimberly Daniels, Dr. Cheryl Brown, Ben Frazier, Glenda Barnett-Hopkins and Maxine Ingram.
