St. Simons Celebrates Pastor and Church Anniversary

This past Sunday, members of St. Simon Baptist Church located in Orange Park, of which the Rev. William H. Randall is the founding Pastor, celebrated their Church and Pastor’s 27th Anniversary during the morning and evening worship services. This year’s Anniversary theme and scripture was “Giving GOD the Glory,”  taken from Philippians 2:11 where the word is quoted: “And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father”. The theme song was “Glory to His Name”. The celebration was a time of praise, worship and fellowship throughout the day. The morning service included a spirit-filled Black History month celebration and spoken word by the Rev. Leroy George.

During the afternoon worship service, several churches, ministers and pastors from Clay County and the surrounding communities were present to honor Reverend Randall. The Rev. Pernell Raggins, Pastor of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, St. Augustine, FL was the afternoon messenger and special music selections by the Gospel singing group, “Men of Praize, ” while moderator Alvin Britt, Pastor of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, Fleming Island was the presider.  Each Sunday, throughout the month of February, St. Simon Baptist Church will celebrate Black History. The Jacksonville area, Clay County and surrounding communities are all welcome to join in the celebration of St. Simon’s proud heritage by the wearing their African heritage attire. Additionally, the Men of St. Simon with present “Historical Men of the Bible from Africa” on Friday evening, February 23, at 7 .pm. The public is invited to attend. The Church is located at 1331 Miller St., Orange Park, FL 32073.
