More than 100 seniors recently attended the first of the year monthly ‘Pathways 2 Brain Health Expo,’ workshop series held inside Bethel Baptist Church in downtown Duval. The engaging session addressed key aspects of brain health and Alzheimer’s Disease. Caregivers found valuable insights and support in their dedicated workshops, empowering them with knowledge and skills for their vital roles. One of the highlights was the comprehensive discussion on eating and exercising for healthy brain aging. Additionally, the advanced care planning sessions provided crucial information and the latest updates on Alzheimer’s Disease treatment were of immense value to participants.

The event concluded with line dancing demonstrations and mindful breathing sessions to improve relaxation, rejuvenate and stimulate brain health. The expo is leading the journey towards understanding and improving brain health and differentiating between ‘Alzheimer’s’  and  “dementia” which are often used interchangeably, it’s important to know the difference between the two. These workshops relate the symptoms caused by physical disorders affecting the brain. The workshops goal is to continue making strides in promoting healthy brain aging and enhancing the quality of life for those on the first coast impacted by Alzheimer’s disease.
