Mission Celebrates 25th Year of Miracle on Ashley Street

Local business and political leaders, community stakeholders and celebrities rolled up their sleeves and put on aprons as they served food to the homeless during the 25th annual Clara White Mission “Miracle on Ashley Street” fundraiser.

Each year, Clara White Mission (CWM) organizes community leaders to join their efforts to prepare and serve lunch under a big tent on Ashley St. On the menu was a bevy of entertainment, plenty of food from local restaurants and professional chefs and the dedicated serving efforts of the celebrity chefs.

Over 150 community leaders assisted in serving the 1,300 homeless and patrons who mixed and mingled over lunch.

Over the past 20 years, this event has raised more than $595,000.00 to aid in eliminating homelessness in Jacksonville. The Clara White Mission, Jacksonville’s oldest urban nonprofit, has offered a unique combination of services and history to the community serving Jacksonville’s homeless and veteran community. Shown serving gourmet fare is Mixons Nixons Bar-b-Que Chef Team Tarik Freeman, Victoria Jones and Lisa Raines.
