“Simply the Best” was the surprise theme for the 75th birthday celebration for Jacksonville native and 1961 Stanton High School graduate Julius Fowler. Hundreds of family and friends gathered to commemorative his golden birthday milestone. On program was a roast from his former postal service coworkers, a special slow dance coordinated by his wife of 48 years and remarks from his three children, family and friends. Mr. Fowler was enlisted in the army for nine years as a paratrooper. After discharging from the military he became an army reservist, where he served for over 27 years. The festivities were held at the Doubletree Hotel on River Place Blvd., where guest enjoyed a bevy of catered cuisine, beverages and a rendition of the Stevie Wonder style birthday song bestowed upon the guest of honor.
