Holding court for 76 years in the Northside”s Cleveland Road community, the James Weldon Johnson YMCA held their annual family reunion bringing together generations who have made the beloved institution a family legacy. Family, friends and members gathered to reminisce and enjoy activities for the entire family. Attendees were treated to everything from swimming, face painting, and a teen zone to line dancing and a voter registration booth.
The center has always been a hub for African Americans on the northside to connect with the centers health fitness programs and other community resources. The centers youth (ages 13 – 19) also receive assistance with their homework and academics study’s with the opportunity to explore the campus Teen STEAM lab.
