Edith Marie Foundation (EMF) presented their ‘Hope for the Holidays’ 5th annual Christmas giveaway. This year’s theme was ‘Books & Bikes,’ where 75 children were blessed with brand new bicycles ranging for ages 2 – 17. On the bikes handle bars were bags filled with brand new books by African American authors. it was held at the Inner City Christian School on Soutel Drive and free to community.
“It was a beautiful sight to see the smiles on the children’s faces,” said EMF founder Terri Cooper. EMF’s goal throughout the year is to provide hope and love through financial assistance to those fighting breast cancer. The Edith Marie Foundation was founded in October 2016 in memory of Edith Marie who passed away July 1, 2016, from Breast Cancer. Edith dedicated her life to helping others, spiritually, emotionally, and financially. Shown is Santa Claus smiling for the cameras with the youth bike recipients.
