Delta Cave Celebrates 100th Birthday

Mrs. Delta Cave was born December 9, 1916 on the Southside of Jacksonville, Florida celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends at the Arlington Senior Center .  A graduate of Douglas Anderson and Old Stanton High School, she graduated from Jones Beauty School and for 50 years or more worked as a cosmetologist. She is the widow of the late Marion P. Cave.  Mother Cave prides herself as a people person and enjoys being with her family and staying active in her community.  Her church activities at New Apostolic Shiloh Holiness Church include attending Sunday school and reviewing the lessons of the adult class. She also enjoys attending local cultural events, traveling and going on cruises.  While blowing out her candles, Delta looked into the cake and smiled, “I’ve done a lot and seen a lot in my 100 years. Even though I never birthed a child, God fixed it for me to have such a large family of godchildren and a host of dear friends. I am thankful to be a blessing to others, and spread love to everyone around me. God has been good to me,” she said.
