Founded by a mother/daughter team, HarperIman is a small business owned by women of color who aim to empower young girls of color by offering them dolls that reflect their unique identities and experiences.
With the recent release of the Netflix documentary “Black Barbie” from Shondaland, the importance of dolls that reflect diverse experiences is more relevant than ever. Both HarperIman dolls and Black Barbie underscore the significance of children seeing themselves at the center of their imaginative play.
