The Family Engagement team from the Early Learning Coalition of Duval sponsored a petting zoo for families at Valencia Way Apartments during Duval County Public Schools Spring Break. More than 30 families came out to see the animals, enjoy music and movement activities, as well as a storytime. The children enjoyed the wide range of animals, which included a pony, cow, chicks, ducklings, rabbits, baby goats, sheep and a pig. Families were served pizza, and everyone got to take home a book with finger puppets. ELC’s Director of Family Engagement, Charlene 
Gross, said the event served as an opportunity for families to build memories and connections, adding, “I think this event was a great way to encourage future attendance at our monthly events.”
