Black Violin virtuosos are back in action inside the Florida Theatre this weekend for their eclectic show featuring violinist Kevin Sylvester and Wilner Baptiste. Sylvester known as Kev Marcus, spoke to us today and is excited to bring the ‘Giving Thanks,’ tour back to the First Coast. Growing up in Ft. Lauderdale the friends were members of  Dillard High School of Performing Arts orchestra and while listening to hip, hop boogie beats, the duo combined their classical musical talents and eventually went on to perform on stages across the globe.

Drawing from their hip hop roots, Kev, whose extended family lives in Clay County right outside of Jacksonville, remarked, ‘We infuse the energy of hip hop and transcend every musical genre,’ said Kev.  His explanation is that the duo creates music that is well proportioned for every age group.  The ‘Give Thanks,’ tour is an ode to giving thanks for their families, their success, and giving back to communities throughout the country now and throughout the year.
