The Duval County Democratic Black Caucus attended the Banner Rally held last week at Friendship Fountain in downtown Jacksonville in recognition of the healthcare victory in the Senate and to commemorate the anniversary of both Medicare and Social Security. The rally also celebrated the “skinny repeal,” the last vote that failed at trying to pass a comprehensive plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Healthcare act also known as Obamacare. “These are not perfect systems, but worth celebrating and modifying as needed” said DWIN member Edna Nalls. Shown sharing the healthcare front line with the DCDBC were hundreds of organizations including the Hispanic Caucus, Jacksonville Progressive Caucus, New Florida Majority, National Organization of Women and more.
