By Lynn Jones| The Beta Alpha Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., recently took their sisters to a new level with a color party. Held inside the Beaver street Enterprise Center, the second installment of the Color Party brought together nearly 100 sorority members for the friendship occasion.
Participants were divided into five colors – purple, blue, orange, white, brown, green, silver/gold and pink. Per each teams color, team captains collaborated and created a colorful atmosphere of cultural and diverse foods, complimentary gifts, themes and honoring the chapters’ life members and words from chapter president Andi Williams.
Chapter First Vice President Kieanna Price, Executive Board Chair Judy Liptrot and their committees coordinated the color party to serve as a valuable opportunity for members to relax, connect, and celebrate the relationships that make the chapter strong. By working collaboratively with the membership committee, the coordinators aimed to create an event that emphasizes fun and reinforces their sisterly support system.
“Fostering a deeper sense of sisterhood among our chapter members is vital as we continue to dedicate ourselves to serving the community,” said Vice President Price.
Members of the National Pan Hellenic (NPHC) from Phi Beta Sigma, Zeta Phi Beta (Orange Park chapter), Kappa Alpha Psi and Alpha Kappa Alpha and Sigma Gamma Rho judged the color teams on food taste, aroma, texture, creativity, and appearance.
Executive Board Chair Judy Liptrot, smiled, “This event will continue to grow, becoming better and bigger with each passing year, it’s equally important to spend time together, building bonds and creating lasting memories.”
