Edward Waters University Women’s Golf Team and the Women of Color Golf (WOCG) and Girls on the Green Tee (GOTGT), Tampa, Florida recently launched a community-based outreach mentoring program.  This dual-purpose initiative will engage the women’s golf team with Women of Color Golf, Corporate Executives, and a variety of professional and industry leaders in a  unique mentor/mentee environment to introduce the program.
Thanks to a generous donation of $50,000 from The PLAYERS Championship, women’s golf is back at EWU.  The mission of WOCG is to promote diversity and inclusion in the sport of golf and to increase minority participation for women, girls, and communities of color through education, training, on-course play, mentoring and career-related opportunities.
The team was presentesd with over $50K to EWU women’s golf team in clothing, golf shoes, golf bags, handbags, golf accessories and more.  As a golfer for more than 35 years, Councilwoman Joyce Morgan says “I am proud of this effort to elevate the EWU team and women in golf.” For more information on Women of Color Golf & Girls on the Green Tee, visit: www.womenofcolorgolf.org.
