When Nicole Smith started Carmen’s On the Run Styling, it was born and manifesting from a place of new beginnings. In her youth Carmen was obsessed with runway magazines depicting models in the latest fashions. Even though no one encouraged Carmen to peruse her dreams, the dreams came to her. After college, marriage, a baby and a 2013 battle with breast cancer, Carmen is now one of Duval’s boutique fashion mavens via her website and social media entities.
Recently Carmen held a ‘Hats On” day party inside Breezy Jazz House in San Marco. More than 70 mad hatters showed up with a variety of hats; from fedoras, to brims to caps, the venue was packed with colors and styles to open a haberdashery. Carmen’s day party goal was to spread her motto to come ‘run’ with her for your fashion and styles and incorporate a mature audience vibe.
When asked how do hats create a winning style,” Carmen smiled, “Wearing a beautiful hat is a head turner, a conversation piece, and exudes confidence,” she said. Show in their fashion and stylist hats left to right is Gary Cannon, The Jeffers, Joe Holmes, Tammy Cannon and Carmen Smith.
