Stephanie A. Jones, founder of Women at Werk, a local women’s networking, empowerment, and mentoring organization, recently presented her 3rd annual Women’s Empowerment Conference to “Set an Example.” The conference was held at the Lexington Hotel and Conference Center and included a three-day wellness weekend to promote a healthier lifestyle for its more than 150 attendees. The event was sponsored by the Jax Chamber and local small business Jones & Rose.
On Friday, women and men attended the “High Maintenance” NetWERK Mixer. Accented with rooftop views, attendees learned about the health benefits of integrating CBD and magnesium into their wellness routines. Saturday, featured the Empowerment Conference with special guest Melissa R. Butler, founder of The Lip Bar, a vegan-based cosmetic company. The day also included several speakers who all brought dynamic energies to the stage to help women become the best versions of themselves. The day concluded with the creation of welcome and exit baskets for survivors of domestic violence residing at a local shelter.
When asked to describe the conference experience, Founder Stephanie Jones replied, “There’s something magical about being in a space of over 150 women from different walks of life, we all came together as sisters with the intent to empower. This event is absolutely inspiring every single year!”
Monthly pop up networking opportunities and professional development WERKshops will be announced in the coming weeks to encourage more sisterhood, small business support and accountability. Follow Women at Werk on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for updates on these future events.
