In 1966 the Temptations hit the charts beginning the legacy of five guys singing and working towards a dream of musical history. Detroit, Michigan’s Motown was the place to be to have your music heard and the possibility of becoming a world renowned artist. Through many trials and tribulations, the temptations stayed on top of the charts for years and their classics still play on radio stations around the world. The “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” musical showcases the group’s journey from the ‘chitlin circuit’ to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as told from the viewpoint of group founder Otis Williams. Williams is also the lone surviving member at 83 years old. With their signature dance moves, five part harmonies, the group rose to the top of the charts and produced 42 Top Ten Hits with 14 reaching number one.
