Suzanne Pickett Wins NFL Inspire Change Award

 On the Sunday the Jaguars miraculously defeated the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, the team announced Suzanne Pickett as its recipient of the inaugural 2022 Inspire Change Changemaker Award. The NFL’s newly established award recognizes individuals who are making a difference in their communities through social justice work in NFL cities.  Pickett was recognized on the field during Sunday’s Jaguars game and presented with a $10,000 donation to the Historic Eastside Community Development Corporation. She was also surprised with two tickets to Super Bowl LVII. Pickett, an artist, activist, and community developer born and raised in the historic Eastside of Jacksonville, has dedicated herself to preserving and restoring her childhood community.

Inspire Change is the NFL’s social justice initiative which showcases the collaborative efforts of players, owners and the League to create positive change in communities across the country. Winners are chosen in one of four categories: Policy-Community Relations, Criminal Justice Reform, Education and Economic Advancement.

Meanwhile on the field, the Jacksonville Jaguars win increased their chances of making the playoffs to 32 percent from 14 percent.
