Spelman Alumna Send Freshmen Off in Style

The Jacksonville Chapter of the National Alumnae Association (NAASC) of Spellman College recently held its annual ‘Send-Off’ for five incoming freshmen from the Jacksonville and Fernandina Beach areas.

The students, members of the college class of 2027, received various gifts from Jacksonville NAASC members to help them successfully begin their freshmen journey.  Gifts ranged from school supplies and gift cards to unique Spelman jewelry specially designed and handmade for the entering students. Approximately thirty people attended the Send-Off including many Spelman alumnae, parents and one prospective student for the class of 2028.  The new students represented Darnell Cookman School of the Medical Arts, Stanton College Preparatory School, Fernandina Beach High School and Frank H. Peterson Academic School of Technology.   The new Spelmanites are shown (L-R):  Zanaya Dawson Alyssa Blandin, Xia Martin, Ariana Cobb & Kya Harris and Xia Martin.
