Sold out Crowd Pay Homage to the Empress of Soul Gladys Knight

Gladys Knight took to the stage at the Florida Theatre last week to sing her greatest hits to a sold out crowd. Lines were around the corner waiting to purchase tickets to hear seven-time Grammy Award-winner sing her hits she recorded during the 1960s and 1970s, for both the Motown and Buddah Records labels. Gladys Knight known as the “Empress of Soul,” is a singer–songwriter and actress and is best known as the lead singer of her group Gladys Knight & the Pips, which also included her brother Merald “Bubba” Knight and her cousins Edward Patten and William Guest. Gladys entered the stage kindly thanking the crowd for their support throughout the years and proudly introduced her band to the audience. Since the age of 4 years old Gladys has graced stages around the world and continues to play too sold out crowds. “I’ve been on this stage a long time; my greatest memory is meeting Momma Ella Fitzgerald.  She always told me if you need help just look up, but be quick because the man has others to tend to!
