The $100,000 donation to Snoop Dogg’s charity is the latest to come from Raising Cane’s and Todd Graves’ long-standing partnership with the award-winning rapper, producer and actor – DALLAS (June 18, 2024) – The “dogg” days of summer just got better as Snoop Dogg’s charity, The Snoop Youth Football Leage (SYFL), celebrates nearly 19 years of giving back with a $100,000 donation from Raising Cane’s. Founded by award-winning rapper, producer, and actor Snoop Dogg, the charity provides the opportunity for inner-city children to participate in youth football and cheer, and teaches them the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and self-respect while also stressing the importance of academics. What began in fall 2005 with 1,300 youth from Los Angeles has since grown to benefit more than 60,000 youth throughout the life of the program and provided countless opportunities to those who need it most.
“I’m so grateful for this generous donation from Todd and Raising Cane’s to The Snoop Youth Football League,” said Snoop Dogg. “This donation enables the charity to impact more lives by engaging inner-city youth in football and cheer while teaching them strong values to build their lives around. Todd has been a great friend and supporter of mine over the years and I appreciate all he does to support those in need across the country.”
Snoop Dogg and Raising Cane’s owner Todd Graves friendship began years ago and has continued ever since through a long-standing partnership during which Snoop Dogg was a guest on Graves’ discovery+ series “Restaurant Recovery,” made a surprise appearance at a Raising Cane’s in Arkansas to kick off “Raising Cane’s Drive-Thru Comedy”, and promoted his album “Algorithm” in Restaurants across the country. Most recently, Graves made a cameo appearance in “The Underdoggs,” which stars Snoop Dogg as a coach for a youth football team.
“Snoop and I have been friends for years and I look forward to any chance we can partner together to make a difference. He’s a great person and has a heart for giving back to those who need it most,” said Graves. “He’s done great work through The Snoop Youth Football League and I know he’ll continue making a positive impact on inner-city youth with this donation.”
The $100,000 donation from Raising Cane’s will empower The Snoop Youth Football League to help more youth and provide them with opportunities to learn about football and cheer, instill core values, and travel to new places. Through the donation, the charity will have the opportunity to purchase much-needed equipment and cover travel and fees associated with the league.
ABOUT THE SNOOP YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE:
The Snoop Youth Football League is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded to provide the opportunity for inner-city children to participate in youth football and cheer. The SYFL serves children between the ages of five and thirteen, teaching them the values of teamwork, good sportsmanship, discipline, and self-respect, while also stressing the importance of academics.
The Snoop Youth Football League was founded by entertainment icon, Snoop Dogg. The fall of 2005 was the inaugural season of the SYFL, and there were over 1,300 kids in the Los Angeles area that participated. The season began in September and included seven regular season games and a three-week playoff, concluding with the “Super Bowl,” at the end of November. SYFL all-star teams were chosen and participants traveled to Houston, TX. In fact, each year an all-star team is selected to travel to another city to compete with children in other football leagues. In addition, this provided opportunities for many children to ride on an airplane, travel to states that they never dreamed of going, and play in the most prestigious stadiums in the United States. To Date we have serviced over 60,000 kids in our 18 years of existence.
The objective of the SYFL is to provide youth, regardless of race, color, creed, or economic background the chance to learn the values of character, integrity, discipline, and team work through football and cheer; to bring all other communities together through a common interest in sports; to promote fair play and fellowship; to teach the game elements promoting safety, enjoyment, and healthy competition.
