Ending the New Year with an end of the year friendship celebration, the William M. Raines Class of 1969 held their reunion gala at the Ramada Inn in Mandarin. The roaring twenties attire showcased the events ‘Harlem Nights,’ theme and highlighted the stylist Black Harlem renaissance era. “We are the true oldtimers. Harlem is a cultural city that has resonated in the history books,” said organizer Terry Roundtree. Raines High School continues to be exemplified in their educational and academics studies offering students a versatile high school experience that combines academic rigor, extracurricular activities, community engagement and sportsmanship. As the oldest historically black high school on the First Coast, Raines continues to shape students lives through the power of education for generations.
