This past weekend longtime neighborhood rivals Raines and Ribault High schools clebrated thier repsetive high school legacies with milestone reunions. The Raines class of 1972 and Ribault Class of 1976 held their 50th and 45th reunions respectively with classmates from Duval County and around the country.
The Raines class of 1972 paid homage to thier 50 years of friendship and success at the World Golf Village located in St. Augustine. Classmates enjoyed a weekend with game nights, a formal dinner and church service.
“This was a wonderful gathering, we reconnected after many years with cheers and prayers for our continued success. Was a great celebratory weekend with friends that we see daily and friends we’ve haven’t seen since graduation,” said Raines class of 1972 classmate Ken Covington.
Celebrating 45 years was the Ribault class of 1976 reunion who were headquartered at the Marriott in downtown Jacksonville. More than seventy classmates made their way for the weekend activities that included a meet and greet, live entertainment and Sunday church service inside Impact Church on Arlington Expressway. “As we look back on our lives we can say we have been blessed and have testimonies to tell our classmates,” said Cal Walton 1976 class president and reunion committee organizer.
