New Organization Seeks to Connect Black Women Influencers

The Women’s Council of the First Coast (WCFC) is on a mission to Collaborate Educate Empower (C.E.E.) business women in all fields of enterprise.  The WCFC was created to be a bridge for women’s organizations in order to collectively impact the Duval community.  The organization’s mission is to provide opportunities for women to increase their knowledge and expertise through leadership development and synergistic collaborations to impact the First Coast region. Recently the council held their installation ceremony inside the Hyatt Downtown in front of family, friends and associates.  On the dais Superintendent of Duval County Public Schools, Dr. Diana Greene administered the installation oath, invoking a solemn promise for the officers to create a vision for women influencers and community advocacy.

WCFC is a division of the women’s council of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) which includes membership from multiple disciplines in the real estate industry.

There are currently twenty-four Women Councils of NAREB chapters nationally. The Jacksonville chapter was chartered on July 24, 2021 at the 74th NAREB National Convention. NAREB was founded in order to promote “democracy in housing,” and is the oldest minority trade organization. WCFC local president, Dr. Melissa Chester remarked, “Far too often women business owners work in silos, with collaborations we can uplift and support each other and promote each other’s efforts. That’s why we want to C.E.E. you as a member or in the community,” said Chester.
