Food Network 2017 Chopped Champion, HBO Max Great Soul Food Cook–Off contestant and Tallahassee native Chef Shacafrica Simmons presented the Protalks#3 Grill-Off trophy to this year’s winner Jaucoby Blue, Sr. for his sizzling creativity on the grill. Provided with secret unknown ingredients, the amateur chefs were challenged to prepare a menu that included chicken, vegetables, potatoes, corn and sliders. Judge Chef Shac threw in some avocados, pineapples and blueberries for contestants to incorporate in their rations for judges to taste test.
Jaucoby Blue emerged as came out the winner and thanked his family, fans, competitors and attendees for their support and attention. “I thank god for this competition, the prostate cancer information, the camaraderie and showcasing my culinary skills on the grill. This is what being in the neighborhood is all about,” said Blue.
The prostate cancer awareness nonprofit annual grill-off gathers healthcare professionals, providers, holistic specialist, nutritionist and community friends for a day to educate on prostate cancer awareness in a diverse, creative format. The day’s events included prostate cancer testimonials, a raffle and grillers luncheon.
