The Johnson Family YMCA recently held a congratulatory reception for Erica Murray-Brown. Brown will make history as the first African American female Director of the Johnson Family YMCA Branch. In this role, she will be responsible for branch operations including member services, wellness, childcare, property management, administration, programming and development.
Brown joined the First Coast Y in 2007. Since that time, she has held a number of positions including group exercise instructor and coordinator, wellness and membership director. Brown is also involved in various community initiatives including philanthropy and community advocacy development. Erica holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. She also holds a YUSA Leadership certification. “Erica is well loved, respected and admired by the entire YMCA membership and surrounding communities. Erica is very deserving of this tribute,” said former Director Dr. Pedro Cohen.
