Hailing from the great state of New York City, Paige Smallwood has come full circle with her performance in the hit play ‘Hamilton.’ With a stellar resume under her belt, Paige graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Temple University and attended the Royal Academy of Music in England where she received her Masters of Arts degree. The Royal Academy known as the ‘Julliard of England,’ was impressed with her performance and proudly proclaimed she was meant for their program. After appearing in Les Miserable’s and three Hamilton callbacks, Paige finally accepted her mission to perform characters Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds.
Hamilton debuted on Broadway in August of 2015 and has won 11 Tony awards and has secured a word of mouth must see reviews. The Schuler/Reynolds characters are part of Hamilton’s revolution, whereas the character Peggy Schuyler’s dies at an early age and Maria Reynolds, the sultry intelligent beast of a woman uses her charms to seduce Hamilton. Hamilton is the Broadway story sung through hip hop, as well as R&B, pop and soul through music onstage. Hamilton tells the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton and his arrival from England, his humble beginning and his role in establishing the American financial system. Paige parting words to every aspiring Broadway star, “keep doing what you are doing it may not work out after high school or after college, just remember your journey is unique,” said Smallwood, she continued, “when I walk out onstage, I give 100%, this role is exciting, come enjoy the show and wear your mask,” said Smallwood.
