Greater Macedonia Baptist Church, located at 1880 Edgewood Avenue West, Jacksonville, Florida is excited to announce the installation of its’ eighth pastor Reverend Brian C. Campbell within the church’s one-hundred and seven (107) year history on Sunday, August 29 at 3:00 p.m. Reverend Rudolph McKissick, Sr., Pastor Emeritus of Bethel Institutional Baptist Church will bring the spoken word. The public is welcomed.
Since September 1, 2018, Rev. Brian C. Campbell has served as the Executive Pastor of Greater Macedonia Baptist Church under the tutelage of the late Dr. Landon L. Williams, Sr. Before accepting this position, he was at the helm of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church located on the Southside of Jacksonville, Florida from March 8, 2003, to August 31, 2018. While serving in this post Rev. Campbell brought the church into financial stability and established many ministries. However, his greatest accomplishment as pastor was the building of a new $1.2 million worship facility that was dedicated on May 2, 2010 and revolutionized the worship experience for church-goers living near the Phillips Highway Corridor.
Rev. Campbell is a native of Jacksonville, Florida, and is the product of the Duval County Public School System. In 1991, he graduated from Englewood Senior High School and received his collegiate studies at the University of Phoenix. Furthermore, Rev. Campbell has earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Religion from Luther Rice Seminary and University and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Apologetics also from Luther Rice in Lithonia, Ga.
Rev. Campbell preached his first sermon on January 12, 2000 and was licensed on February 6, 2000 by his pastor, mentor, and father in ministry Dr. Landon L. Williams, Sr. at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church. Also, he was ordained on January 19, 2003 by Dr. Williams.
A dynamic speaker in his own right, Rev. Campbell has a no-nonsense approach to the gospel. His word is rich for the new generation while holding on to the traditional roots in which he was raised. A much sought after Guest Lecturer/Teacher, Evangelist, and Speaker, he has been recognized by various organizations for his oratory gifts, and has been afforded the opportunity to speak on the district, state and national levels.
Rev. Campbell currently serves as the Assistant Dean of National Baptist Convention Congress of Christian Education. As a defender for the poor, he serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Agape Community Health Network (FQHC) and has given to many charitable causes. Including those causes associated with student achievement at the former Lee High School now called “Riverside High School.”
Rev. Campbell is married to the former Rosalind Elaine Small and they have one beautiful daughter Briana Ciera.
