EWU Stay Woke Speaker Series Continues to uplift Black Conciseness

The most recent Edward Waters University (EWU), Stay Woke Distinguished Speaker Series event featured Dr. Umar Johnson.  This series explores Black history and experiences, offering a platform for accomplished speakers to share insights and engage with the university community.  A noted figure of influence and expert in the education and mental health of African and African-American children  Johnson captivated the audience as he shared his thoughts surrounding Black empowerment, mental health awareness, education reform and economic independence. Held on the campus inside the Milne auditorium, the session ended with a student led Q&A session and remarks from EWU President Dr. A. Zachary Faison, Jr. Previous speakers have included notables such as Roland Martin, rapper T.I. Tamika Mallory and Marc Lamont Hill.
