Each One Teach One: Rodney Hurst, Sr. Visits Teen Leaders of America

Students from Teen Leaders of America kicked off summer camp with a lesson on racial equality and African American history. led by Rodney L. Hurst, Sr., an award-winning author, historian, and Civil Rights activist.
Hurst grew up in Jacksonville during the 50s and 60s, a period during which civil rights demonstrations were met with violent response. Hurst chronicles the viollence of Ax Handle Saturday in his book, “It was Never About a Hot Dog and a Coke.” Hurst has dedicated his life to fighting racial injustice, while documenting what it means to be Black in America.
