Downtown Vision, Inc. Welcomes Back Third Thursday Sip & Stroll Presented by PNC Bank

(DVI) today announced the return of Third Thursday Sip & Stroll Presented by PNC Bank. Beginning Sept. 19, the monthly  event will return to the Southbank Riverwalk from 5 – 8 p.m. every third Thursday of the month, spanning from Friendship Fountain to the Chart House.

New to Third Thursday Sip & Stroll Presented by PNC Bank, this season includes an exciting lineup of culture-focused programming, curated by DVI’s partner cultural groups: Rio LatinoJax Caribbe and Jax Filipinos. Each month will feature live music, food and activations celebrating Latino, Caribbean and Filipino cultures respectively.

For the month of September, Rio Latino will program eight live performances by Awilda Quezada La Tremenda, Baba Caiman, DJ Nandi, Mike Trombone, DJ Excel, DJ BabyJay, DJ Recka and a live timbalero band, showcasing traditional Latin American percussion. Visitors can try authentic Venezuelan cuisine from the El Chamo Criollo food truck as well as Sip & Stroll favorites such as Naked Kitchen, Lazy Days Hotdog Cart, Hardpressed Burgers, Chop It Charlie’s and Compass.

Cre8Jax Photography 6.jpgOn Oct. 17, Jax Caribbe will bring dance performances by Konpameplease, Tantan, Chillakaya and DJ sets by DJ Jocymix and DJ Sebas. There will be 10 food trucks, ranging from Caribbean food to local fusion favorites, and activities including art vendors and face painting.

To close out the cultural programming for the year, Jax Filipinos will be hosting on Nov. 21, bringing a party fit for the whole family to the Southbank Riverwalk. Hip-hop group In the Midst, DJ Funktion, and other live musicians like Guijone, Sunlowly, Calire Alfre and DJ Mercee will be performing. There will be dance groups, martial arts demonstrations, live artists, vendors and a car show along with local and regional Filipino food vendors.

Attendees are encouraged to stay in the area after Sip & Stroll Presented by PNC Bank is over for the night for free silent disco on the DoubleTree pool deck and to enjoy one of the nightly music and light shows at Friendship Fountain.
