Southsides Schultz Center was the location for the 4th annual ‘Shades of Green Mental Health Awards of Excellence,’ Gala. Held during Mental Health Awareness Month, the Step-by-Step 4 Help Foundation’s annual affair continues its mental health advocacy mission to reduce the stigma related to mental illness in teens and adults.
The weekend included a brunch with staff members, dinner gala and award presentations. Awardees categories included the unsung heroes awards and the Emerald award presented to Mayor Donna Deegan for her unwavering leadership and advocacy for mental health in Jacksonville. The highlight of the evening was the awards presented to street performer Laroy Hill and celebrity guest speaker star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Cynthia Bailey.
