What began as a simple mommy-and-me gathering, founded by Felicia Wright, has grown into a one of the most impactful events for women and girls of color. In celebration of Black History Month, Mygani partnered with Empowerment Resources Inc. to host the 10th annual Curls and Convo inside the VyStar Tower. Mygani’s signature event was created to foster self-confidence and affirm the beauty of women and girls of color, regardless of hair texture or skin complexion. Bringing together over 100 attendees, the event featured an intimate fireside chat with moderator, Wanda Patterson from Hot 106.5, an inspiring panel discussion, talented hairstylists, local Black- owned vendors, a catered lunch and swag bags filled with natural hair products and accessories —all contributing to a space of empowerment, unity, and cultural excellence. The stage featured diverse industry speakers and live demonstrations.
Recognizing its meaningful impact, the City of Jacksonville has officially declared February 12 as Curls and Convo Day. This year, Mygani was honored to receive a congratulatory letter from the City of Jacksonville, celebrating a decade of positive impact within the community.
“My hope is that this event continues to be a powerful and uplifting experience for women and girls of color in our community,” said event creator, Mrs. Wright.
