Common Ground: The Longest Table Binds Hearts and Minds

Shown is Melinda Henry and daughter Ceterra Bunche discussing Duvals neighborhoods with table-mate Andranette Moore.

The Longest Table is a meal shared with neighbors at a dinner table that stretches more than 600 feet to foster conversation and build relationships across economic, racial, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. The dinner held on downtown on Independent Drive, drew more than 500 chamber members and neighbors from across Jacksonville for the meal to sit with someone you don’t already know! The event featured a catered dinner and the opportunity to engage and sit cheek to check and shoulder to shoulder and talk about anything and everything. The annual event brings a sense of community among people who love the First Coast. The intention behind the event is to build/strengthen community relationships across economic, racial, religious and ethnic backgrounds.
