75th Birthday of Lois Jones-DeVaughn Highlighted with Official Proclamations

Lois Jones-DeVaughn celebrated her 75th Birthday this past weekend at the home of her son, Tillis Q. DeVaughn. Over 100 guests mingled and dined witnessing the honoree being presented two Jacksonville proclamations! The proclamations were received from her District 10 Councilman Reggie Brown and Congresswoman Corrine Brown for her contributions to the Duval County Jail CTC center, where she has been employed since 1994. Ms. Lois impressive pedigree includes her over 30 year affiliation at the Northside Church of Christ, Eastern Star, her four children, 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is the 12th of 13 children and was born and raised in Lake Butler, Florida to sharecroppers Doris and Zola Jones. In high school Lois was a majorette and selected salutatorian of the Lake Butler Consolidated High School class of 1959.
