The Sigma Pi Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. hosted the Inaugural Tri-County Derby with hundreds guests arriving at the Jessie Ball DuPont Center stylishly dressed in their Kentucky Derby inspired fashions. The event featured live music, dancing, and prizes. The highlight of the event was the broadcast of the 148th Kentucky Derby, where horse Rich Strike was the winner. The party with a purpose was planned to generate funds for the fraternity’s national programs and partnerships. The historic fraternity is known for developing leaders, promoting brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for communities.
