The Gamma Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated spent their annual MLK Day of Service (held on the King holiday) as a day on! The day of service was established in 1996 for members of the international organization to honor the civil rights leader. The event exceeded their goal of 200 new and used handbags filled with essentials for women totaling over 400 received. The handbags were donated to local non-profits including the Sulzbacher Center, Restore House, City Rescue Mission, Trinity Rescue Mission and the Clara White Mission among others.
