
Delegates of the International Longshoreman’s Association Local 1408 recently returned from their annual convention held in Puerto Rico with much to celebrate. After a celebratory year of securing more jobs for the port including a multi-million dollar contract with Volkswagen and providing more jobs, the delegates had the opportunity to see one of their own elected to a national office.
ILA Local 1408 President, Vincent S. Cameron was elected to the post of International Vice-President (1 of 23) replacing Charles Spencer who held the seat for approximately 12 years. All newly elected officers will take their post August 1, 2015.
