Capitalizing on the popularity of hats, the Divine Divas of Jacksonville hosted their 4th Annual Pretty Hat Tea Scholarship Award fundraiser on Saturday, August 10th, at the Holiday Inn Baymeadows. The annual event included sharp dressed women showcasing their brims to raise funds for deserving students. The recipients were selected through a application including academic requirements, college acceptance, recommendation letters and submission of a 500-word essay on “Why I Want to Further My Education”.
The Divine Divas of Jacksonville was founded by CED/Head Diva, Ruby J. Smith and will celebrate their 6th anniversary in September. The inaugural event was held in June 2016 and since that time the organization has given nearly $10,000 to deserving students.
