Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Pi Eta Omega Chapter celebrated their soror, Elizabeth Leach on her 103rd birthday. Chapter President Barbara Coleman and caregiver, Patricia Hicks-Harley was present to bestow gifts to the centenarian. Leach has been a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority for over 80 years. She was initiated into Beta Alpha Chapter at Florida Agriculture and Mechanic University in 1938. In 1992, she became a member of Pi Eta Omega chapter located in Orange Park. SA native of Montclair, New Jersey, she moved to Florida in 1988 after completing a career as a pianist, teaching in the public and private sectors. “I’ve known Elizabeth for many years, she is a feisty lady, very sharp, articulate and knows black history like the back of her hand,” said Barbara Coleman.
