Greek organization chapters in Jacksonville are committed to providing scholarships to deserving students on the First Coast. Beta Alpha Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., stood proud on the heels of the chapters pearls to distribute scholarships to deserving women in college and high school students preparing for the fall semester.
To ensure that the pearls of Edward Waters University Mu Gamma Chapter were acknowledged for their academic achievements, the chapters Alpha Hayes Moore and Eugenia M. Brown scholarship committee awarded more than 12K in scholarships to ten (10) deserving high school and (3) college women inside Ed White’s High School gymnasium. Each year chapter committee members visit high school counselors and colleges campuses to encourage female students to apply for the scholarships. Information is also distributed through the chapter’s websites, social media accounts and member emails. In the last four years, the chapter has distributed more than $32K in scholarships to deserving women that uphold their founders’ vision by encouraging the highest standards in the achievement of academic excellence.
Founded January 16, 1920, the sorority takes pride in its continued participation in transforming communities through volunteer services from members and its auxiliaries.
