Dr. Cedric Gibson Named New Kent Campus President

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) has announced Dr. Cedrick Gibson as the new Kent Campus/Cecil Center president and executive chair of the School of Business and Professional Studies. Dr. Gibson will begin his role in this capacity on November 16, 2015.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Gibson onboard to lead our Kent Campus faculty, staff and students and direct our newly developed School of Business and Professional Studies,” said FSCJ Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ian Neuhard. “Dr. Gibson brings a wealth of educational training and professional experience to this position that is sure to continue moving us forward in meeting the strategic direction of FSCJ.”

“It is with great honor and pleasure that I join the FSCJ community to serve the faculty, staff and students of this College,” said incoming president for FSCJ Kent Campus Dr. Gibson. “I look forward to combining my passion and expertise with the FSCJ leadership team to significantly impact the services and offerings of this institution.”

Dr. Gibson holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida, two master’s degrees in Aviation from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and a doctorate in Business Administration from Northcentral University.

For the past five years, Dr. Gibson has served as the dean of Business Technology at Indian River State College and previously worked as a faculty member. He also serves as the regional director for the Small Business Development Center.

Prior to moving into higher education, Dr. Gibson worked in K-12 education as a faculty member, dean of students and assistant principal.
