Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, in partnership with WellCare Inc. kicked off their Adopt-a-School Initiative on Dec. 17, 2015. Representatives from WellCare and the Beta Alpha Zeta Chapter delivered boxes of supplies (including reading books, paper, pencils, pens, arts and crafts, etc.) to Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary and Lake Forrest Elementary. The Adopt-A-School initiative allows members to identify low performing schools and provide assistance in a number of ways to enhance the educational experience, increased test scores and grades. Members purchase supplies and or equipment, provide volunteer hours, assist with parent engagement programs and work with administrators to identify needs that may be specific to that particular school. The Zeta representatives were Karen Britt, Jewel Flournoy, Dr. Victoria Bryant-Riggins, Herlena Washington, and Gabrielle Riggins. Jose Lopez and Karen Britt represented Well Care.
