Tina the Musical took over the performing arts stage shaking their tail-feathers to Ike and Tina Turner plethora of hits. The crowd was on their feet clapping and singing hearing the songs from the past and present that they are so noted for crediting.
Hailing from Nutbush, Tennessee, Annie Mae Bullock grew up with a mother eager to see her succeed in life and her career. Meeting Ike Turner and singing on stage with him and his band encouraged Tina to be the shining star of the group; eventually she divorced Ike and excelled at her solo career.
For more than forty years, Tina graced stages around the world singing to her fans, enjoying her family and telling her story in the biopic, ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It.’ The Oscar nominated movie detailed her rise to stardom, her hardships, her interactions in the music industry and her uplifting and phenomenal rise back to the top of the charts. While much was added to the movie for dramatic imagery, the Broadway show stayed true to Turners compelling story.
The inspiring musical took fans on a journey capturing her Grammy win, breaking barriers for women and earning the coveted title of Queen of Rock n’ Roll. This show stopping, feet tapping stage play is led by Tony winning performer Adrienne Warren who continues to rock stages across the nation.
