Tiffany Haddish Inspires at Black Excellence Festival

Jacksonville residents showed up and showed out for the Black Excellence Fest formerly known as the Black Expo, over a four-day confab of community connections in health awareness, generational wealth, entrepreneurship and job creation.  The festival began with a sponsorship award luncheon and included a ‘Taste of Excellence,’ a virtual career fair and vendor showcase with Greek Village at the stadium.

Attendees were eager to catch a glimpse of invited celebrity guests including R.L. from R&B group Next, Larenz Tate and Tiffany Haddish. Haddish was all smiles as she spoke about her recent book entitled, “I Curse you with Joy” to her fans. Earlier in the day, Haddish met with 17-year-old Brayla Clarke who was diagnosed with a brain tumor and endured surgery to combat the tumors growth. Brayla is now on the road to recovery. Her academic journey has been transformed as a result and is an honor student and plays sports. During her many hospital visits, it was Haddish on screen antics that kept her laughing even during tough times. Haddish hugged Brayla and was motivated by her determination. “When I first read the letter I thought it was AI because it was written so well. This industry can lie to you and not be very trusting. The bottom line is not to quit being you,” said Haddish to Brayla.  Brayla shook her head and knew that her dreams are coming true and FBX was the conduit to bringing her dream to life! Shown (L-R) is Takeilia Clarke looking on as Tiffany Hadddish embraces her daughter Brayla.
