Through the Pain: Jax Native Story of Rising from the Ashes

“God do everything for a reason, feel what I’m saying? He put his toughest soldiers through his toughest battles.”

Yungeen Ace is rising from the ashes. The 21 yo Cinematic Music Group signee is ready to share his life’s story for the first time through a 30 min documentary, Through The Pain. It starts with his upbringing in Jacksonville, FL, his rise to rap stardom, and the turning point that changed the course of his life.

On June 5, 2018, Ace was the sole survivor in a quadruple drive-by shooting that killed his brother and two best friends. Given no time to heal, Ace was arrested for violating parole with 8 bullet wounds still in his body, forced to cut off his dreadlocks by the county sheriff, and his house arrest prohibited him from attending his brother’s and friends’ funerals. From there, the documentary chronicles Ace’s rising artistic and commercial success, his mental and physical pain, and how one fueled the other. Ace hasn’t let this tragedy slow him down as he continues to channel his pain into his raps, sharing his latest project Step Harder. And after that? In his own words, “I’m always three steps ahead, feel me? I’m always three steps ahead.”
